Umaria Sinhawansa (Born 91-01-05) is a Sri Lankan Pop and R&B and Jazz Singer. She started off her professional career in Music at the age of 11.

She joined up with the biggest names of the Sri Lankan music industry for her Debut in the field at the age of 14. The song and Video of “Pathu Pem Pathum” and her second song “Gum Nade” became instant hits making both, two of the biggest chart toppers of all time.

Umaria is the youngest singer who has had the honor of being nominated for the “Best singer Award two years in a row for the years 2007 and 2008, at Sri Lanka’s Premier Film Awards – Sarasaviya Film Awards.

Umaria is the Silver Award winner at the 11th Pan Asia Music Festival, being the only Sri Lankan contestant to win the silver with a difference of .1 to the Gold.

Later that year, she managed to Bag the Bronze Award at the “Best Original Song Contest” in Izmir, Turkey, while being the only Asian to take part in the international Competition.
In August 2011, Umaria along with her older sister Umara represented Sri Lanka yet again, in Ukraine at the Crimea Music Festival and won the ‘Bronze’ award from a selection of 30 contestants from around the World.
She has had the priviledge of sharing the same stage with legends like Asha Bhosle and Shankar Ehsaan and Lloyd.

Using her background in western music as a platform and achievements as a motivator, 22-year old Umaria Sinhawansa is presently planning on her album for the local market and looking forward to taking Sri Lankan music to greater heights.
